Northwest Family YMCA

Community volunteers approached the YMCA of Greater Syracuse more than 10 years ago to build a Family YMCA in the Northwest suburbs. In 2006, the YMCA purchased a 22-acre property at the corner of Route 31 and Drake's Landing Road in the Town of Lysander to build the Northwest Family YMCA. In July 2010, the Empire State Development Corporation (ESDC), the state agency responsible for land use in Radisson, re-issued its land use determination that the proposed YMCA constitutes a "community facility" as defined by the Radisson General Project Plan (GPP), and is therefore an allowable use of the land. Community volunteers and the YMCA are pleased that we can now move forward with the site plan approval process with the Town of Lysander.
YMCAs don’t build YMCAs, communities do. A group of volunteers is actively fundraising for the Northwest Family YMCA. To date, we have raised $2.4 million – 75 percent of the funds needed to begin construction – from individuals and businesses to build the Northwest Family YMCA. Please join us! You can show your support by making a pledge to the Northwest Family YMCA capital campaign. To contribute, please contact Sarah Beth Lardie, Capital Campaign Director, at 751-3055.
